Now this is more like it – a DB4 with Motocorse kit (titanium FULL exhaust, FCR carbs, and a different tank to fit over the carbs) and other goodies.
End of season sale!
A friend has decided it is time to thin his collection of bikes. So it is time to find this bike a new owner.
The Bike was Purchaced used from a owner in NY. My friend bought it and after installing new belts, rode it for a couple hundred miles and decided it was not for him. I do not have lots of information on the history of the bike but I will fill you in on what I know. If you have further questions please feel free to ask them, I wont promise to know but I m willing to try and find answers where possible.
Overall the bike is in really good shape for its age,It is a real attention getter.
The bike does have some wear and tear from the miles but most of the damage seems to be related to some poor design ideas.
There is a boot mark on the pipe as there is no heal guard, I would have a guard made to prevent this in the future.
The left side body panel has a paint chip where it has contacted the frame.
There are a few scratches on the underside of the bellypan, probably due to someone loading the bike in a truck.
The bodywork is in good shape but some of the lower fairing mounts are worn.
Paint has very little wear but is not perfect. The DB4 is powered by a air cooled Ducati 900 motor, It has a dry clutch with a 6-speed transmission.
All tune up parts are Ducati so there is no problem getting motor parts.
The suspension is Ohlins in the back with a set of Paioli conventional forks up front.
The wheels are Antera and are pretty light for stock wheels.
Tires are Michelin sport cups and although plenty of tread is there I would plan on installing some fresh tires.
Brakes are by Brembo and need nothing.
All lights and switchgear works as it should. The previous owner Obviously spent some time and money on the bike.
The clip-ons are Two brothers racing bars with a lot of adjustments to them.
The Bike also has a Corse full titanium 2 into 1 exhaust, this system is completely titanium not just the canister. It has a huge core in the canister yet is not too loud, a very well made system.
The bike also has a bank of Keihn FCR 39mm flatslide carburetors. from what I have learned this was part of a kit that included the exhaust and a new fuel tank to fit the Carburetors.
Braided steel brake lines
carbon fiber bits : rear hugger and front fender as well as the clutch cover.
steering damper
Gold 520 chainIt was originally sold for around $19,000 in 1999 and I have heard the “kit” alone was another $3000,00.
This is your chance to own a piece of Italian artwork that is a blast to ride.
Check out the photo with the wooden barn doors (?) in the background – look familiar? That’s because it’s from another DB4 listing we had earlier in February. The bike was listed for $8500 back then – anyone want to guess how much it will go for this time round?
