LOL, I actually tried one of these BITD when a friend got one from a local JDM bike importer. I had to look twice at the tach redline. Then it turned out that is was in fact an ‘R’ chassis with an ‘F’ motor. So back it went.
A baby hurricane?! Did not know there was such a thing. I also have never seen CBR/Hurricane dual branding. I geuss the naming schenanigans were not an american honda thing. Or perhaps it is a 21st century vinyl printing thing.
And the last photo that CHAIN is so loose it’s actually laying on the front of the swing arm. As an ex Harley mechanic from the seventies and eighties, that’s not good….. HARLEY-DAVIDSON OF VENTURA CALIFORNIA …THE OLD SHOP 77 WEST MAIN.
Last picture, that chain is loose as a goose.
@Michael – lmao – me thinks you are correct in your assessment. Hurricane does sound cool.
@Thoth – I bet you have some stories to tell!
This design escapes one weakness in the 600 hurricane we got. The jellybean mirrors that attach to the fairing. Not only are the irreplaceable, but at this age thy are all grossly miscolored. White being the worst. Even otherwise on the rre presntable ones that come up every 5 years or so. When I see one I want to rescue it (nostalgia). Until I see the mirrors and the wart of the beauty queen kills my motivation.
