I’ve been meaning to post this cool old Honda VFR for quite a while. It sports the same colors my buddy BV is lusting after on the 2007 anniversary edition VFR800: Classic white with blue and red details with the gold Honda wing logo.
This particular VFR400 is a pretty special model because it was never offered for sale in the states, and it sports some very cool features like the single-sided swingarm, V4 engine configuration, and rev happy 400cc motor. Check out this Honda VFR400 NC24 for sale in Kansas City on Craigslist ($3500):
quote from seller’s Craigslist posting:
MAKE: HONDA VFR 400 NC 24
ENGINE : 400 CC
TRANSMISSION : 6 SPEED
MILEAGE 40,054 KILOMETERS
ROTHMANS RACING, VERY RARE, ALL NEW DECALS AND NEW PAINT CODES FOR BIKEwww.frontstreetmotors.com
*First things first, this is not an 85. According to this Wikipedia article, the NC24 wasn’t introduced until 1987, and this bike definitely sports all the important features of the later NC24 model. But when I first saw the listing as an 85, it made me wonder if the 25 year rule works the same way it does for classic cars in the U.S. – no import or registration issues with models not previously imported. Anyone know for sure? Also, was there a Rothmans edition of the NC24?
It’s a cool bike for $3500 either way though! Here’s a sweet YouTube clip of an NC24 VFR400 in action:

Yes there was a Rothman’s Honda official version of this bike so it is probably genuine
Just to let you know I own one of these in the same scheme. They were made from 1986-1988. The Rothmans scheme was a LTD edition run of 18,000 bikes and was only made in 1987.
It’s still listed on Honda’s Japanese website, http://www.honda.co.jp/news/1987/2870618.html
Not a bad bike, although the NC30 that replaced it in 1989 was much better, better suspension, brakes, had twin round lights, better sized tyres, better riding position.
Just for reference, I picked mine up for £650.00 which is about $1200.00.
Parts are also quite scarce nowadays.
Thanks for the feed back guys, much appreciated!

Long time lurker, thought I would say hello! I really dont post much but thanks for the good times I have here. Love this place..
When I was hurt in that automotive accident my life would be changed always. Unfortunately that driver had no car insurance and I was going to be in pain for ever.
This was not time for me to start and guess what to do. I had to find a good attorney to help me get what I needed. After all, my family was counting on me.
How lousy was it? I has bedridden for 5 months, I had to have constant care and my medical bills went through the roof!
Fortunately, I found a good referral site to help me.
I will post more later this month to tell you more about what I have been going through.
