Ducati's four-valve foray, the WSBK-winning 851 desmoquattro is destined for collectibility. Meanwhile the Weber fuel-injected superbike is a rideable feast. Rare as 851's are stateside, this Ferracci replica is 1,000 miles closer to Oz than JFK, and may interest collectors anywhere on the globe.
1991 Ducati 851 S3 FBF Replica for sale
Ducati put together a complex basket for all their eggs in the 851, fuel injection, water cooling, and four-valve desmodromic heads. The package claims 110 hp, but the brilliant torque is the stuff of legend. Big Showa suspension and big Brembo brakes are at the end of the trellis frame. A generous windshield guards the rider stretched over the long tank. If you have a sporty pillion there is a spot under the beauty cover.
Robbie's 851 looks quite good and substantially stock. Recently serviced after an extended hiatus, it has clean injectors, new cam belts and tires.

The 851 divulges its racing heritage, being much more comfortable in a fast sweeper than in a "technical" corner. In the hands of the factory race team, it had a great career and won the Superbike World Championship in 1990, with the very similar 888 taking the honors in 1991 and '92.
