If you’ve missed out on previous VF1000R’s, this might be your chance to join the cult. They feature a 998cc V4 engine with gear driven cams, a first for Honda that eventually become a signature piece for V4’s that followed in other successful models. It’s a big bike but one that holds a special place in sportbike history. This example has a bit over 11k miles and has a buy-it-now of $5900. Current bid is $1500 reserve not met.

1986 Honda VF1000R For Sale on eBay
from the seller:
I am the third owner of this clean 11,118 mile VF1000R. The first owner put most of the miles on the bike and owned it until about two years ago. The second owner was a motorcycle collector who rode the bike sparingly and owned it only about a year before selling it due to health issues. I have owned this lovely VF since last October when it had only 10200 miles on it. This bike is wearing it’s third set of tires, Avon Azaro 120-80-16 and 140-80-17 ZR rated all season radials with only 600 miles on them. The bike had virtually new Dunlop Sportmax ZR rated radials on it when I got it but the rear tire size was incorrect so I replaced both tires. The chain and sprockets are original and in very good shape. The bike has some very minor road patina on the side of the fairings, tank top, some usual paint cracking around the mirror stalks and a small crack in the right rear tail plastic. One of the two rear tail/seat section nuts (the funny top hat ones) is missing. There is no rust in the gas tank. The bike came with a K&N aftermarket air filter but there are no holes drilled in the original air box. The bike has newly installed front and rear Galfer stainless steel brake lines and a set of OEM hand grips. The original brake lines and grips are included in the sale. The clutch slave cylinder was just rebuilt as well. Otherwise it is all there and completely original. A factory manual and magnetic padded tank cover go with the bike as well as a newer bike cover. This Honda runs and rides great with no issues whatsoever, everything works as it should. The engine and transmission perform as new. The paint and decals glow.
How much and where is it; What State? I’m in South Carolina and would love to own another since I owned one in 1988
Nice bike . I will soon have one or 2 for sale myself as I am restoring two of these beatiful bikes presently . Good luck to the seller .
So wanted one of these back in the day (had to make due with my year old VF500). If this was closer to Texas, I’d be all over it.
Gents I am a lucky owner and just to say what some of you allready know,it’s big and bad and solid and a profound ride, defiantly it’s own breed,a more refined ride than most had to offer, can be sorted and tuned & given an endurance vibe that is as crisp now as it was back when at Suzuka
I am the person who bought this. Got it for US$4,650.00. Its in beautiful original condition. A bargain as far as I’m concerned.
