1996 Kawasaki ZX-7RR (yes, the real deal)

This is the last year for the true, factory race, 7RR's

These are getting super hard to find and this one looks to be in pretty good shape.  The miles are a little high at 26,000, but hey, it's 14 years old.  This one has some very tasteful upgrades that include PM Chicane wheels, Muzzy exhaust and a Double Bubble wind screen.  It's for sale on ebay right now so if you are in the market for one of these don't let it get away.

What sets these awesome bike apart from their ZX7R siblings is the following:

Keihin Flatslide Carbs as opposed to the standard CV carbs.
Close ratio gear box and slipper clutch.
Adjustable rear swingarm pivot.
Adjustable steering head angle.
Adjustable front suspension with more compression and rebound (Fork tubes slightly bigger than stock zx7r).
Upgraded front calipers.

The 96's are my favorite of the 7RR's I only wish I could bid to win.  This one isn't a Garage Queen as it has plenty of miles on it so you shouldn't feel bad about riding should you win the auction.  At time of this posting the bid was a measly $1,000.00, but the reserve wasn't met.  I would suspect this one will fetch somewhere in the $5,000 to $6,000 range, if the seller will let it go for that.

1991/2 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-7RR

Located in Wenatchee, Washington is a very cool 1991/2 Kawasaki ZX-7RR.  I have become very interested in these lately and this looks to be a very good, original, example.  This bike has 10,244 miles and an asking price of $5,500.  The bike has some small scratches on the fairing but otherwise looks to be OK; it comes with an additional rear tire.  Thanks must go out to Doug & Phil for clarification.  This post is somewhat older, so see the ad on Craigslist here.

Update: Looks like there were some typos in the ad. Our sharp eyed readers are on the case. Check comments below and Doug writes in:

The latest posting for the zx7rr is not correct. That is a 91/2 7rr. Just in case you don’t know (maybe you do know) 91, 92 didn’t have the adjustable swing arm and have K1 (91) or K2 (92) in the serial #. 1993 and 94 have adjustable swing arms and have M1 (93) and M2 (94) in the serial # plus the square ram air in the upper fairing. Skip 95 and the 96 have N1 in the serial # adjustable swing arm and steering head and 41 mm flat sides vs the preceeding years 39mm flats, also 96 have the steel tanks vs the aluminum tanks. One more note worthy difference is the fairing. 96 were all green lower and upper with a purple tail section.

Thanks for the heads up guys! dc

1996 Kawasaki ZX-7RR

Available Toronto, Canada is a 1996 Kawasaki ZX-7RR that needs to be put back together.  Seller states that the bike has 22,000kms (13,670mi) but needs the motor reassembled (with no mention of why it was taken apart), exhaust, and a chain & sprockets fitted.  This bike differs from a regular ZX-7R in that it has an adjustable head-stock angle, alloy tank & swing arm, close ratio gear box, different front calipers and larger carburetors.  Once this bike gets put back together it could be quite a nice example once everything is sorted.  Price is not listed.  Thanks for the link, Bobby.  See the Kijiji ad here.

1992 Kawasaki KR1S

If you're looking for a rare, two-stroke, sport bike and think that NSRs and RGVs are too prevalent: we have for you a 1992 Kawasaki KR1S located in Austell, Georgia.  The seller doesn't mention much about condition, or title, but provides contact information to follow up on and it is looks to be a pretty complete street bike--shown without exhaust or lower faring fitted.  The seller is asking $5,800 for a very, very rare (at least in the U.S.) Kawasaki.  See the WERA forum thread here.
