1996 Kawasaki ZX7RR #665

1996 zx7rr on Toronto Kijiji

123

Here we have another Homologation Superbike for sale. This one isn't in perfect, unmolested condition, but it is the real deal and is showing 12,100km or 7,500 miles which is pretty low considering the age.

Quotes from the seller:

OFFERING - In 1996 Kawasaki made a world superbike homologamation of 1500 worldwide & 500 of them to North America. I have #665 of 1500 worldwide. The bike is a race bike in street clothing. You will HEAR the flatside carbs, you will be in 1st gear for awhile so feather it when you take off, its made to run. I am 46 and was planning on racing it, (sold separetly from the bike )I have full race fairings & doublebubble, both brand new only installed to predrill holes.

It's no secret that we love 90's homologation sport bikes on this site. This RR obviously isn't a garage queen and with a polishsed frame and swing arm it would be near impossible to restore to stock. It does offer low mileage and stock plastics, but with what appears to be some damage or tape on the fairing. This could make a great daily driver or weekend road warrior, but the owner seems to really like it with an asking price of $10,000.00 (assuming Canadian $). We've had a few zx7rr's on RSBFS lately and one that was perfect with all the necessary goods to be in a museum that sold for $9,855.00. These still put a smile on my face when I see one for sale and let me remember the days of Scott Russell, Akira Yanagawa and Doug Chandler on board ripping it up on the race tracks.

HARRIS Magnum race chassis for sale in Chicago

Just the name "Magnum" alone signifies this is a rare find indeed. Harris is a small performance specialist shop in the UK, producing frame kits for different engines, resulting in many unique specials over the years. In any case, this 1980 Magnum 2 frame kit listed on the Chicago Craigslist will fit a Kawasaki Z1 (the old Z1!) or a Suzuki in-line four:

Will fit a Kazasaki Z1 or Suzuki inline 4 (Katana & others) motor. Currently has brackets to fit Z1. White Power rear suspension, Marzocchi Front forks, Harris cast aluminum triple trees, German made adjustable clip ons, Magnesium wheels. Absolutely gorgeous frame is ultra-light and riged, single and double butted cro-moly tubing... manganese bronze welded. Harris mono-shock rear swing-arm set the standard for all others.

It also comes with a Harris ultra-light aluminum fuel tank, fiberglass bodywork, and a Harris exhaust (a rare item in itself!).

Harris Magnum frames are legendary, so regardless whether you will be buying this one or not (you should!), head on over to the ad on Craigslist to read up on some motorcycle history!

1990 Kawasaki ZXR-7 Ninja H2

Located in Aliso Viejo, California is a very nicely restored--to Kawasaki endurance paintwork--1990 Kawasaki ZXR Ninja. This bike is purported to have been previously owned by Chip Yates who chose to restore this bike while commissioning the custom paint work, fitting an Ohlins rear shock, and Ohlins components in the front forks. The chassis has 32,071 and a brand new motor dyno'ed at 105hp. This bike is a very neatly customized, early ZXR-7 Ninja. See this bike on eBay

1991 Kawasaki ZX7R K1 Ninja

Located in Eugene, Oregon is a fantastic 1991 Kawasaki ZX7R Ninja with 9,900 original miles. The seller states that this bike is completely stock except for the windshield. As standard this bike has 39mm Keihin, flat-side, carburetors; unrestricted engine, close ratio gearbox, aluminum tank, adjustable front and rear suspension, single seat and 5kg lighter than the standard version. This bike comes with the Kawasaki books, repair manual, battery tender, cover and also comes with a new battery, exhaust gaskets, hoses, chain and more. This bike is very close to me and I'd love to have it, but, hopefully one of our readers can help the seller out! The seller's asking price is $4,000. See this bike on Craigslist here.

1991/2 Kawasaki ZX 7RR all original!

Found this one first thing this morning on // <![CDATA[
document.write('eBay');
// ]]>. As you may know, by now, these are my favorite and this one makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I'll probably be in the mix with a bid or two, so bid to win!

rr1rr2rr3rr4rr5rr6rr7rr8

1992 Kawasaki zx7r Rare, original and unmolested. First off this bike is a CASH ONLY deal if you do not have the cash available please do not bid! 500.00 deposit through PayPal within 48hrs of auction end. O.K. now that that is out of the way I will begin. Yes,this is the real deal homologation model, aluminum gas tank, close ratio 6 speed transmission, solo seat and 40mm flat slides. Factory race bike very rare I highly doubt there is another one in better condition. From what I have been told there were less than 200 built.I have owned this bike since 1995 I bought it with 700 street miles on it, it has never been raced, crashed, dropped or mistreated in anyway never ridden in rain always garaged, it has some small scuffs on the tail section where the back pad attaches to it you can see them in the picture unfortunately this is how I bought and it was done at the dealer. It has a couple small scratches on the underneath of the right fairing, which cannot be seen unless you are lying down on your back. Other than that this bike is as mint as they come. The tank, plastics, seat, rims etc. are flawless. Truly must be seen to be appreciated. It has a fender eliminator kit on it which did not require any cutting so the original fender can be put back on also it has a full Muzzy stainless and aluminum exhaust. The fender and original exhaust both mint will be included in the sale. Brand new battery I even saved the original battery if you want it. The tank decal in the pictures is included I don't think you can find one if you wanted to, some of these bikes came with this sticker applied and some didn't. If you have been waiting and looking for one of these bikes this is the one you want. Clear title in hand. The rear stand is NOT included in the auction. Any questions please ask, if you need or want any more pics ask and I will send them to you. Again CASH ONLY DEAL! Shipping is up to the buyer I will help in any way possible loading etc.

The eBay description and VIN sticker say it's a 1992, but all of my information says the K1 serial code is a 1991, which this bike has. The description also states that this has 40mm carbs, but once again, all of my information says they came with 39mm carbs.

The condition of this 7rr is amazing! I posted a 96 7rr a few days back that was in good shape, but heavily modified. This one appears to have all of the right stuff with only 7,724 miles on it. Original exhaust, original championship sticker, original fender, reflectors, it's all there! The only thing missing is the original crate from the factory. This one has all the goods and should bring some good $$$. I would love to continue blabbering about this bike, but I have to go home and start taking inventory on what I can sell. My kids should be scared! Good Luck!

Update: This bike sold for $9,855.00!

1996 Kawasaki ZX-7RR (yes, the real deal)

This is the last year for the true, factory race, 7RR's

DSC_0016DSC_0007-1DSC_0012-1DSC_0009-1

These are getting super hard to find and this one looks to be in pretty good shape. The miles are a little high at 26,000, but hey, it's 14 years old. This one has some very tasteful upgrades that include PM Chicane wheels, Muzzy exhaust and a Double Bubble wind screen. It's for sale on ebay right now so if you are in the market for one of these don't let it get away.

What sets these awesome bike apart from their ZX7R siblings is the following:

Keihin Flatslide Carbs as opposed to the standard CV carbs.
Close ratio gear box and slipper clutch.
Adjustable rear swingarm pivot.
Adjustable steering head angle.
Adjustable front suspension with more compression and rebound (Fork tubes slightly bigger than stock zx7r).
Upgraded front calipers.

The 96's are my favorite of the 7RR's I only wish I could bid to win. This one isn't a Garage Queen as it has plenty of miles on it so you shouldn't feel bad about riding should you win the auction. At time of this posting the bid was a measly $1,000.00, but the reserve wasn't met. I would suspect this one will fetch somewhere in the $5,000 to $6,000 range, if the seller will let it go for that.
