1983 Bimota KB2 Laser TT

Bimota KB3 for sale

This seller has impressed us all year with the incredible selection of rare, Italian offerings. Today this Bimota KB2 is listed on eBay and available for shipping from Italy. Mike wrote a great post on KB2's a few years back that does an excellent job of describing the background on these bikes. This example is showing over 25k miles but looks really sharp and mostly period correct.

This is the state of art frame from genius Tamburini and declared by him his favourite. It is definitely one of the 3 most desiderable Bimota models ever and one of the rarier. This specific bike is fitted with full race kit as pistons, racing cammeshaft and Mikuni flat carns but also present unique Factory specifications being Factory upgraded in the 80's with M1R Marzocchi/Bimota forks, Brembo 4pots calipers matched to 320mm discs and 17" Bimota wheels. 2011 BMW S1000RR Pegram Racing AMA Pro Superbike

s-l1600

When we first saw this bike for sale in 2012 it was being sold with it's stable mate. Many of the same images are being used in the current auction but talking with Mr. Pegram would probably be best to determine which one is remaining. The listing ends in six days and shows a $27,000 buy-it-now. And for the icing on the cake, the new owner is invited to their track school where race mechanics will set up the bike for you!

Many thanks to Dan B. for the forward!

s-l1600 (1)

from the listing:

2011 BMW S1000RR Pegram Racing AMA Pro Superbike. This is the BMW Factory Sponsored A-Bike from the 2012 AMA Pro Superbike race season and the last BMW Factory Team sponsored by BMW in the United States.

After the bike was retired from professional racing in 2012, it was sold to one of the owners of the Yamaha Champions Riding School. The bike has been re-wrapped with his #13 (as seen in the photos) but if you wish the bike can be re-wraped to the original Pegram Foremost Racing #72 as it was raced in AMA Pro Superbike in 2012.

Here is a rare opportunity to own an actual top five finishing BMW AMA S1000RR superbike, completely set up, as seen in every 2012 AMA Pro race on SPEED and on Superbike Family. Most people are rarely availed of the opportunity to even ride a factory superbike, one of the fastest motorcycles in the USA, let alone own one.

NOTE: This is not a slightly modified street bike. This is a professional race-only, no budget, complete AMA professional Factory sponsored Superbike with full AIM telemetry, spare $3000 OZ Magnesium wheel set. Only four were made and now all four are in the hands of private collectors and racers.

Pegram Racing’s AMA Spec motor was most powerful on the grid in 2012 after the NJ Motorsports Park round of any AMA Superbike on the same AMA dyno, over 216 hp and only 360 lbs! This bike puts out more rear wheel HP the Pegram Racing's EBR delivered on the 2015 World Superbike grid. Engine completely rebuilt, as is required periodically, by Pegram race team with all new rods in 2015.

from the seller:

There is a good probability that my 1985 Honda Interceptor is one of the best examples you will ever find on eBay. I bought it 4.5 years ago from it's second owner in San Francisco. I wanted an aesthetically perfect 1980s classic Honda Sports bike for my office decoration. This Interceptor is as original as the day it left the factory. This bike has the cam-gear drive system which Honda used for racing in the 1980s. It still is a very fast bike even by today's standards. The covered miles are correct and it shows. All systems are functioning and in good working order. It idles quietly, drives smoothly and looks fantastic. It is often mistaken for a new bike by casual observers, since there are no visible blemishes. I have kept it inside my house next to its smaller brother VF500 and away from the damaging environmental elements. I have set the reserve fairly and below what it is worth in today's market. If you want a good original example of this race-engine classic, here is your chance.

from the seller:

For your consideration is a 1992 Kawasaki Ninja ZX750K2. A true K model with only 2731 miles. Bike sold new at the dealership on October 30th 1993. It was purchased at Performance Cycle in Republic, MO. Bike has only had one owner. I have a copy of the original title and have the original license plate. It is completely stock OEM quality with all the warning labels and reflectors. Bike comes with original sales brochure, Owners manual, Shoei promotional helmet (size Large), Ladies Kawasaki jacket (size Small), ownership & service documentation, tool kit, and two keys. The bike looks new and has been meticulously taken care of. Never has seen the rain or elements and always stored indoors. There is no rust or oxidation present anywhere on the bike. The bike would be perfect 100% if it wasn't for a couple of tiny scrapes on the swingarm. Bodywork is 100% no scratches or cracks. Tank is 100% no scratches or dings. The bike really does look and pass for new on our showroom. Our Service Dept has gone completely through this bike from top to bottom. Did a full service on the engine including fluids and filters are OEM new. It runs, sounds and drives like the day it was new. Bike comes with clear title and everything you see in the pics. This will be the finest example of a 1992 Kawasaki Ninja ZX7R you will ever find. No stories, no problems, no excuses with this one.

Laverda November 30, 2015 posted by Dan

Red, Rare, and Italian:
1999 Laverda 750S in Alabama (relisted)

Update 11.29.2015 - This one originally sold back in June of last year in Alabama. Since then it has been listed multiple times on eBay but now the seller has decided to price is right about where it was last year (sold in June 2014 for $3,334.99, current bid is $3,444.00). Only 20 hours left so if this one interests you, move fast! - Marty

The last generation Laverdas aren't commanding prices anywhere near the 70's/Breganze era bikes but that could begin to change pretty quick. Often referred to as Zane era bikes (due to the the factory moving to the town of Zane), the last generation Laverda bikes had a Nico Bakker designed frame, Marchesini wheels, Brembo brakes, Paoli forks and shocks, and a cool letterbox fuel tank system that caused the center of gravity to improve as the fuel level went down. Overall they were well designed and were strong performance competitors to the 750 Ducati of the same era.

1999 Laverda 750S for sale one eBay

1999 Laverda 750S for sale

For 1999-2000, there were 4 different 750cc based models offered; the the 750 Strike (a standard style) in mother of pearl blue or orange, the 750 formula in black, the 750S with half-fairings in silver or black, and the 750s Carenata (which means fairing in Italian) in yellow or red. This example is a 99 750s Carenata model with the red bodywork and has very low mileage.

The seller back in 2014 indicated this was part of a collection, and didn't  include a lot of information.  The pics below are from the previous post while the new seller has provided many more pics from what I can see, the current seller has only replaced the rear tire and possibly done other regular maintenance (such as a battery)...

from the June 2014 seller:

1999 LAVERDA 750 CARENATA in great condition. Never wrecked and clear title! Only two owners and very low mileage! In great condition - only defect is a flat tire (which can easily be replaced for minimal expense). I am an owner selling off my motorcycle collection. I am a motivated seller! Bid now!

This particular bike auction has been listed before on ebay and here on RSBFS with the seller asking for about $6500 usd.  Click here to see that post and related links to the auction but as noted in the post header, the market price for the 750s carenta model seems to be more about $3,500 USD right now.

As regular readers of RSBFS know, I am a big fan of these bikes and I have to admit I personally hope these appreciate in the future.  But given the evidence of this postings history, I don't know if that's likely.   I guess this one will appeal to the rider who wants a late 90's italian sportbike that isn't a Ducati...
