All required maintenance has been performed by PJ's Ducati/ Triumph in Albuquerque. Everything pictured in photo bucket album, plus a bit more is included in the sale. To sum it up, this is a; “turnkey collectors dream.” The Ducati is beyond explanation and my poor photo skills can't bring out the true quality of the motorcycle. You're buying a virtually new 2000 Ducati 996S with factory options. I'm the second owner and I have a clear title for the Ducati.

The Ducati has never seen a rainy day, never been abused, tracked, wrecked or dropped. Always stored in my garage on stands and covered. Started weekly and run up to temp, to maintain seal integrity. Oil has been changed every 6 months and coolant flushed every year. It's as you see it from the factory. All maintenance is up-to-date. It's a definite garage king.;-)

Nevada Gold Nugget: 1984 Yamaha RD500LC

RD500LC_8

Located in the far away town of Elko, Nevada, this two-stroke smoker is one of 3 possible variants of the RZ500 lineup. Most people are aware of the Japanese market RZV500 (with aluminum frame and lower spec motor) and the RZ500 (which was available in Australia, New Zealand and Canada), but did you know there was a third variant? The RD500LC is mechanically the same as an RZ500, sporting different graphics and shipping with different spec rubber - and was the Yamaha point product for Europe.

1984 Yamaha RD500LC for sale on eBay

RD500LC_1

I just love the RD500 paint scheme. Maybe it is the white wheels (these bikes generally sport gold, black or white wheels), or maybe it is because it is simply different than the standard RZ500 checkerboard livery. Whatever it is, I think it pops on this bike.

RD500LC_3

From the seller:
Rare 1984 Yamaha RD 500 Two Stroke.

This RD is in great running order. It starts first kick. The mid fairing on both sides have been "modified" with aluminum to hold them tight(see pictures- no idea why you would do that to a rare bike), and the lower fairing piece on the left side is wrinkled, with the paint peeled off, from gas sitting in it for a long period of time. The rest is very clean.

clean, clear Nevada title- no weird stuff

RD500LC_6

This RD500LC looks to be in somewhat typical, unrestored shape. The fairing work was looks as if it might have been to fix damage - either to prevent cracking of the fiberglass where it mounts up, or possibly indicating the bike had been down in the past. The front turn stalks have been swapped out for low profile units, but this could always be for cosmetic preference.... The bike does look very clean, but as always we at RSBFS recommend you do your homework on any prospective new rare bike purchase.

RD500LC_5

This RD is available via auction now, and sports a $12,000 BIN. The seller is open to offers, however, so there may be some wiggle room for those of you interested. We don't see too many with the RD livery when it comes to the big Yamaha smokers, so this is a bit of a rarity. Check out all of the details here, and let us know your favorite: RD, RZ or RZV. Good Luck!

Vintage Gamma: 1983 Suzuki RG250 Gamma in Japan

RG250_1

When it comes to Japan, this GJ21A model Gamma is not exactly what you would call rare. In fact, in many areas of the world, these bikes are not rare at all. Rare is dependent upon supply, and the supply of these wonderful quarter-liter two strokes is very sparse to citizens living in the United States. Can you say import?

1983 Suzuki RG250 Gamma for sale on eBay

RG250_15

Before the v-twin RGV250 with which readers might be most familiar, the earlier Gammas were parallel twins - just like the Yamaha RD/RZ series bikes. The '83 RG weighed in at 288 pounds dry, and had a reported 45 horsepower when new. True, this is not a particularly special RG model. But it is the first year RG, and it created a new category of "racing bred" streetbikes complete with aluminum frame. Besides, isn't having to mix oil with the gas (or at least fill up the oil injection reservoir) enough to make it special? And while this bike is far from new, the potential continues to be there - if you look hard enough.

RG250_7

From the seller:
We offer from Japan, the motorcycle SUZUKI RG250.
Vihicle name : SUZUKI RG250γ
Model : GJ21A
Years : 1983
Frame number : GJ21A-1138**
Mileage : 17685km
Modify detail : NISSIN 3/4 mm Front RADIAL break pump, Front stabilizer DAYTONA

This has a little scratches in the body work. But very clean body work. No rusts in the gas tank.
Although a front fork has a little oil leaks.
Although an engine is in a exellent condition.
Since it is an old motorcycle, there is a certain amount of damage.
However I think that it is a condition very very good on the whole.

As to the shipping, we prepare a crate (about 180cm x 90cm x 90cm) and send it through agent. Shipping cost is $1000 in the world from a port to a port.

RG250_12

US buyers might balk at the shipping premium as well as the time it takes for the boat to bring your new toy home (and don't forget that unless you live near a port city there will be additional transport charges). But the RSBFS readership is global, and there may be readers out there better situated to capitalize on this little smoker. Opening ask on this bike is $2,500 US greenbacks, which might keep buyers at bay. Click the link to jump to the auction and check out all the details. Home market two-stroke anyone?

Sin City: 1989 Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP

Las Vegas, NV – 18,025mi – $2,700 No Reserve

 1989FZR1000EXUP_1

It's always nice to see an older, and well cared for, FZR1000 pop up for sale. It just means that clean examples are not extinct and still around for those love to look at them and ride them. These are some damn good looking bikes. Anyone that knows and loves the older FZR1000’s know that this is the model to have. Yamaha had redesigned their liter bike, bumping displacement to 1002cc and horsepower up to 145. Now present was the EXUP system which further enhanced the bikes power delivery.

1989 Yamaha FZR1000 for sale on eBay

1989FZR1000EXUP_2

This bike comes to us again from a collector in Vegas who looks to be parting with a few bikes, including this GSX-R Limited. Though this bike isn’t as rare as that Limited, it is still killer and a whole lot cheaper! It looks to be in well maintained condition and cared for as a collector piece.

From the seller:

hello.im selling my 1989 yamaha fzr1000.this bike is in great shape and has 18k miles.i have done a cosmetic restore.the paint is in great shape and painted back to the original scheme which includes the pearl white.the paint alone was close to 2k.bike is all stock including the original windscreen and exhaust and signals.i even have the hard to find seat cowl.it has been in my collection in my house for some years.starts right up and runs great.you will be hard pressed to find a 89 fzr1000 in better shape.i can ship the bike but you will have to arrange the pickup.im located in las vegas and if you are local you can contact me to come by and look at it.i reserve the right to end the auction early as i have it for sale locally.all sales are final and this motorcycle does not come with a warranty.

1989FZR1000EXUP_5

We do see these pop up from time to time, and for good reason! They are awesome bikes that feature good looks and an entry level bike to start a collection or enjoy some classic sport bike goodness. I would suspect this bike to go in the $4.5k-$5k range, but wouldn’t be all that shocked if it went for more. Bidding is only up to $2,700 with a little over a day left and the reserve non-existent. This one is going to a new home, will it be yours? Check out the auction here and do something about it.

Boy, you guys must be a real pain in the ass. This poor seller is advertising another bike to sell and people spot a fender of interest in the background. So after emails, knocks on the door and a few of you hiding in the garage, here it is. I might have embellished that story a little bit but you get the idea.

I guess the seller didn't learn his lesson about including bikes in the background of his photos.

It has been a nice summer for buyers interested in GSX-R750 LTD's.  You have had your pick of museum piece examples to nicely modernized bikes.  The good news is that there is no reserve so get serious with those bids.

Here is the auction.

Track Day Heaven: 2004 Bimota DB5 race bike

DB5R_5

For those who participate in the occasional track day, a little masking tape and the removal of mirrors is enough. For others, a dedicated track day bike - usually an inexpensive or well-used model with track-specific changes - is in order. Take that one step further and consider a full blown race bike. If money were no object, would this be your track day weapon of choice?

2004 Bimota DB5R racer for sale on eBay

DB5R_3

Starting life out as a DB5R - considered one of the best handling of the air-cooled Ducati chasis available - and fitted with a hi-po, 1178 cc Hypermotard engine built to the hilt, this particular bike is a "cost is no object" excercise for racing. And race it did, purportedly winning several championships. And what better way to ease this mount into retirement than as a spirited track-day ride worthy of envious stares and buckets of drool?
